By The Key Salon
Every product in The Key Luxury Hair Collection started with a question we hear in the chair: what should I be using at home? After years of watching great salon results fade between visits, we built a line around the concerns our clients actually have: dryness, breakage, thinning, brassy color and styles that won't hold.
Cleanse
Strength & Repair Cleanse is for hair that feels weak, stretchy or snaps easily. Violet Cleanse neutralizes yellow and brassy tones so blondes and silver hair stay bright between color appointments.
Condition and treat
Hydration Conditioner brings softness and slip back to dry hair, while the Moisture Repair Mask, made with golden honey, ProVitamin B5 and quinoa, is a weekly deep treatment for strands that need extra love.
Moisturize and seal
Sage Moisturizing Cream keeps hair soft and manageable day to day. Sandy Woods Oil seals in moisture and adds shine to ends. Soothe & Hydrate Mist refreshes hair and scalp whenever they feel dry.
Style
Illuminating Volume Mist adds lift and glow, and the Multi-Hold Styling Gel with rice protein gives flexible hold for every hair type, from sleek ponytails to defined curls.
Not sure where to start?
Take our Product Recommendation Quiz, or ask your stylist at your next visit. We will build a routine around your hair, not someone else's.
Noticing more hair in your brush, a wider part or thinner edges can feel scary. You are not alone, and there is usually more you can do than you think.
Why hair thins
Shedding can be linked to stress, hormonal changes after pregnancy or during menopause, nutrition, tight styles that pull on the hairline, harsh chemical services, or medical conditions. Often it is a mix of several.
When to see a doctor
If your hair loss is sudden, patchy, comes with itching or pain, or you have other symptoms, check in with your doctor or a dermatologist first. Some causes need medical treatment, and getting answers early matters.
How we help in the salon
Our Hair Loss Solutions service starts with a consultation. We look at your scalp and hair, talk through your routine and history, and build a personalized plan. That plan may include gentler styling, scalp care and products from The Key Luxury Hair Collection chosen for strength and moisture.
Habits that protect your hair at home
- Give your hairline breaks from tight ponytails, braids and edges-heavy styles.
- Use a satin or silk pillowcase or bonnet at night.
- Keep heat low and always use a protectant.
- Be patient. Hair grows slowly, so give any new routine at least three months.
Ready to talk it through? Book a consultation and we will start with you, not a one-size-fits-all fix.
Lived-in color is for anyone who wants dimension without a strict touch-up schedule. Instead of a hard line at the root, color is softly blended so it grows out gracefully.
What makes it different
Balayage is hand-painted, so lightness lands where the sun would naturally hit. Paired with a soft root, the result looks effortless at week two and still beautiful at month four.
What to bring to your appointment
- Two or three photos of color you love, and one you don't.
- Your color history, including box dye. It changes how hair lifts.
- How often you realistically want to come back.
Keeping it fresh
Use Violet Cleanse once or twice a week to tone down brassiness, and alternate with a moisturizing routine so lightened hair stays soft. A gloss between visits can refresh shine and tone.
How often to refresh
Most clients come back every three to four months for a refresh, sometimes sooner for a quick gloss. Your stylist will map out a plan that fits your hair and your calendar.
Extensions can add length, fullness or both, and when they are done well, nobody can tell where your hair ends and the extensions begin.
Start with a consultation
We will look at your natural hair's density, texture and health, talk about your goals and lifestyle, and recommend the method that fits. Not every method is right for every head of hair, and protecting your own hair always comes first.
Color matching
Extensions are matched and blended to your natural color. If you are planning a color change, it is best to do it before or alongside your install so everything matches.
Caring for extensions at home
- Brush gently from ends to roots with an extension-friendly brush.
- Keep conditioners and oils away from the attachment points.
- Sleep with hair loosely braided or in a silk bonnet.
- Keep up with maintenance appointments so your natural hair stays healthy.
How long do they last?
It depends on the method and your care routine. Your stylist will give you a clear maintenance schedule at your appointment.
Red light therapy is a gentle, non-invasive treatment that uses specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light. There is no heat damage, no downtime and nothing to recover from. You simply relax while the light does its work.
For your face: fine lines and wrinkles
Red light is believed to work at the cellular level, giving skin cells an energy boost. Research suggests it may support collagen production, the protein that keeps skin firm and smooth. With consistent sessions, many people notice softer-looking fine lines, more even tone and a healthy glow.
For your body: pain and inflammation
Near-infrared light reaches deeper into tissue. Studies suggest it may help calm inflammation and ease muscle and joint discomfort, which is why it is popular for sore muscles, stiff joints and everyday aches. Many clients find it a relaxing way to support recovery and feel better in their bodies.
What a session feels like
Most people describe a gentle warmth and a deep sense of calm. Sessions are quick, and you can go right back to your day afterward.
Getting the best results
- Consistency matters. Results build over a series of sessions rather than a single visit.
- Arrive with clean skin, free of heavy makeup and lotions.
- Pair it with hydration, sunscreen and a good skincare routine.
Is it right for me?
Red light therapy is a wellness treatment, not a replacement for medical care. If you are pregnant, take light-sensitizing medications, have a skin condition, or have ongoing or severe pain, talk to your doctor first. Persistent pain always deserves a medical evaluation.
Curious? Ask about red light therapy at your next visit, or book a session and let us help you glow from within.
Between work, family and everything in between, it is easy to put yourself last. We created our wellness services as a place to pause, breathe and come back to yourself.
Facial rejuvenation
Our facial rejuvenation treatments focus on refreshing, hydrating and restoring a healthy glow. Your treatment is tailored to your skin's needs that day, so you leave feeling cared for, not rushed.
Sound healing
Sound healing uses calming tones and vibrations to guide your body and mind into a deeply relaxed state. Many guests say they feel lighter, clearer and more grounded afterward. There is nothing to do but lie back and listen.
Why we pair them
Beauty and wellness go hand in hand. When your nervous system is calm, you look and feel your best. That is what we mean by wellness from within.
Make it a ritual
Book a session on its own, or add it to a hair appointment for a full reset. You can learn more on our Sound Healing and The Key Soundscape pages.
Healthy hair needs a balance of moisture and strength. Too much of one and not enough of the other, and you will feel it.
Signs you need moisture
Hair feels dry, rough, frizzy or brittle, and snaps easily when you stretch a strand.
Signs you need strength
Hair feels limp, mushy or overly stretchy when wet, won't hold a style, and breaks after stretching a long way.
The quick strand test
Gently stretch a clean, damp strand. If it snaps right away, reach for moisture. If it stretches and stretches before breaking, reach for strength.
Building your routine
- Needs strength: Strength & Repair Cleanse plus the Strength & Repair Conditioner.
- Needs moisture: Hydration Conditioner and a weekly Moisture Repair Mask.
- Every day: Sage Moisturizing Cream to soften, then Sandy Woods Oil to seal ends.
Most hair needs a little of both, and the balance changes with seasons, color and heat styling. Your stylist can help you adjust as you go.
One tube, three looks. Our Multi-Hold Styling Gel is made with rice protein for flexible hold that works on every hair type.
1. The sleek ponytail
Apply a small amount to damp or dry hair, brush back smoothly and secure. Smooth any flyaways with a little extra gel on your fingertips.
2. Defined curls
On soaking wet hair, rake gel through in sections, then scrunch upward. Let it air dry or diffuse, then gently scrunch out the cast for soft, defined curls.
3. A soft, polished finish
Use a pea-sized amount to tame edges or flyaways, then finish with a light spritz of Illuminating Volume Mist for lift and glow.
Tips
- Start with less. You can always add more.
- Build hold by layering rather than using a lot at once.
- Pair with Sage Moisturizing Cream underneath for extra softness.
The Key Salon opened in 2020, in the middle of the pandemic. Founder Krystal Henry wanted to create something the industry needed right then: a safe space for both stylists and clients, where everyone could feel comfortable and confident.
Where it started
Krystal's path into hair began with a photoshoot before a modeling move to New York City. She apprenticed under her mentor, Dalbe Markman of AOC Salon, and grew into a master stylist and salon educator over 16 years behind the chair.
Growing together
In 2022 the salon expanded into The Key Salon Studios, giving more stylists a beautiful, supportive home to build their businesses, and giving clients more ways to experience beauty and wellness under one roof.
What's next
From The Key Luxury Hair Collection to sound healing and red light therapy, we keep growing in the direction of wellness from within. Thank you for being part of The Key Salon family.
